Delaware County's townships and villages, OH building permits

Data through September 2026 · updated 21 Oct 2026

1,162 building permits in the Delaware County Regional Planning new-construction permit file were issued in Delaware County's townships and villages from October 2025 to September 2026, about 1,162 a year. New home permits lead with 1,127. 97% were for homes. The county's file names contractors, but it names the builder on new-construction permits only, and we haven't checked their licences or work, so we only count permits per builder and don't rate or rank them: these pages show what was built and when.

What this file covers: This is Regional Planning's rolling one-year extract of new-construction permits only: new homes (one-, two- and three-family) and new commercial buildings. Remodels, additions, decks, pools and trade permits are not in it.

What this page can and can't show

  • ✓The permits in the Delaware County Regional Planning new-construction permit file, by kind of work and month.
  • ✓What the job was declared at on the permit.
  • ✓Which contractors filed the most permits (volume, not quality).
  • Who does good work. The county's file names contractors, but it names the builder on new-construction permits only, and we haven't checked their licences or work, so we only count permits per builder and don't rate or rank them.
  • Which permits were finished. The county's planning extract records new-construction permits as they are issued and carries no permit status or final inspection date.
  • Where, by ZIP code. The file carries no usable ZIP code.
  • Street addresses or owners. We publish counts and permit rows without them.

How these numbers are made

Source: Delaware County Regional Planning Commission, Building Permits from August 2025 to July 2026 (ArcGIS Online layer BP_1_Year_to_0926), read 21 Oct 2026. We count permits issued October 2025 through September 2026; denied and withdrawn permits are left out. The county's planning extract records new-construction permits as they are issued and carries no permit status or final inspection date, so no finished share is shown.

New-construction permits Delaware County Code Compliance issues for the county's townships and villages (Liberty, Berlin, Orange, Sunbury, Galena, Berkshire, Concord, Genoa, Kingston and the rest): new one-, two- and three-family homes and new commercial buildings. Remodels, additions and trade permits are not in this file. The cities of Delaware, Powell, Dublin, Westerville and Columbus issue their own permits and are not in it.

  • The file holds new construction only, so nearly every permit here is a new home; it says nothing about remodels, roofs or trade work in the county.
  • It is a rolling one-year planning extract, so it covers twelve months (October 2025 to September 2026) and there is no year-on-year comparison.
  • The file has no permit status, final inspection date or ZIP code.
  • The value is the construction cost written on the permit, not the sale price of the home.
  • Multi Family here means two- and three-family buildings permitted under Ohio's residential code, which we count with new homes.

Counts are permits, not jobs: one job can need several permits. Nobody paid to be on this page and nobody can. Sources and definitions →
