Data through December 2024 · updated 23 Oct 2026
1,345 building permits in the Deschutes County Assessor's permit file were issued in unincorporated Deschutes County, Sisters and La Pine from January 2023 to December 2024, about 672 a year. New home permits lead with 488, then garages, sheds & shade structures (300) and additions (176). 90% were for homes. The county's file doesn't name contractors, so we can't rank, compare or profile firms here: these pages show what was built, when and how fast the county signed it off.
What this file covers: This is the Assessor's copy of the permits that change a property's value: new homes and manufactured homes, additions, garages, shops and barns, remodels and demolitions. Electrical, plumbing and mechanical permits are not in it, and it holds no permits issued after December 2024.
Building permits Deschutes County Community Development issues (its own 247- permit numbers), for unincorporated Deschutes County and for the cities of Sisters and La Pine, where the county runs the building programme. Bend and Redmond run their own permit offices: their permits are in the same Assessor file but are not counted here.
