Everett building permit search: how to look up permits in Everett, WA

To look up permits on an Everett, Washington address, use the City's eTRAKiT online permitting portal. It has Search Permit and Search Property pages, and the City's Self Serve Resource Guide says to "Create a contractor or public user account to search permits" and recommends Microsoft Edge (read 24 October 2026). Closed permits are also filed in the City's Digital Records Center. The City publishes the same permit system as Trakit Permits on its open data site, the source of our 11,450 Everett permits from October 2024 to September 2026.

How to look up the permits on an Everett address

  1. Open onlinepermits.everettwa.gov, choose Setup an Account, and create a public user account.
  2. Log in as Public, choose Search Property or Search Permit, and enter your address or the permit number.
  3. Open each permit and read its inspection list. An Everett house job can need separate building, electrical, mechanical and plumbing permits.
  4. For a permit that was finaled years ago, go to the Digital Records Center, choose Address Search under Real Property Information, and open the archived file.
  5. To see the contractor, filter Trakit Permits by your street and compare the contractor named there with the one on your contract.

What the statuses mean

The open data file has no permit status and no final inspection date, only an expiration date on some permits, so our pages show no finished share and no time to final. Whether a permit passed final is in its eTRAKiT record. A permit that shows up in the Digital Records Center was, by the City's description, approved and then closed or finaled.

When the record is not online

The Digital Records Center holds building plan sets for commercial and multi-family buildings from 1950 to the present and for single-family homes from 2014 to the present (Self Serve Resource Guide, read 24 October 2026). For anything not there, contact Permit Services at PermitServices@everettwa.gov or 425-257-8810, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

What our Everett pages add

The Everett page counts permits issued October 2024 to September 2026 by kind of work:

Kind of work Permits (Oct 2024–Sep 2026) Last 12 months (Oct 2025–Sep 2026)
Electrical 5,254 2,723
HVAC 2,100 1,002
Plumbing 1,322 585
Remodels and repairs 318 173
Roofing 310 144
ADUs 134 100
Demolition 119 76
New homes 115 59

The permit statistics page has the file by year and month, browse permits lists the rows without owners or street addresses, and the ZIP code pages split the counts across Everett's ZIP codes. To check a contractor's Washington registration, see How to check a contractor's license in Washington.

What this does not tell you

The open data file has no status and no final date, and most electrical permits don't say whether the property is a home or a business, so we don't split permits into homes and other buildings. The value is the job value written on the permit, not the final cost. We have not matched contractor names to state license records, so we count permits per firm and don't rate or rank them. Unincorporated Snohomish County, Mukilteo and other nearby cities run their own permit offices.

How we know this

The portal, account and Digital Records Center details are quoted from the City of Everett eTRAKiT home page and its Permit Services Self Serve Resource Guide, read 24 October 2026. Our counts are the City's Trakit Permits open data file (3w3u-656c), read 19 October 2026: building, trade, solar, demolition, fire protection and sign permits issued October 2024 to September 2026.

Numbers come from public permit records in 57 cities, data through October 19, 2026. Nobody paid to be on this page and nobody can.
