Adams County, CO building permit search: the e-Permit Center, statuses and CORA

For a building permit in unincorporated Adams County, Colorado, use the county's e-Permit Center (Accela Citizen Access) and choose Search Building Applications / Permits. The building search takes a permit number, street number and name, parcel number, license number, business name or a date range, and works without logging in (read 24 October 2026). In the county's public permit layer, 6,247 permits were opened from October 2024 to September 2026, and roofing led with 1,869.

How to look up the permits on an Adams County address

  1. Open the e-Permit Center and choose Search Building Applications / Permits.
  2. Enter the street number and street name, or the permit number from your paperwork (building permits look like BDP23-3148), or the parcel number.
  3. To see a contractor's other jobs, search by License Number or Name of Business instead.
  4. Open each record and read its status and inspection history.
  5. If the property is inside a city, the county will not have it; go to that city's permit office.

What the statuses mean

These are the common status values in the county's permit layer:

Status in the county data What it means
Case Finaled Final inspection passed
C of O Issued Certificate of occupancy issued
Closed Case closed
Permit Issued Issued; the layer often leaves this in place after the work is finished
In Review Still in plan review; we do not count these

Because most permits stay at Permit Issued in the layer, we show no finished share for Adams County. To know whether a job passed, open the record in the e-Permit Center and check that a final inspection is recorded.

When the record is not online

Records not in the e-Permit Center go through a Colorado Open Records Act request. The county says to "Fill out the Open Records Request Form and email to the department contact", using its CORA contact list by department, or to send the request to cora@adamscountyco.gov if you cannot identify the custodian (CORA page, read 24 October 2026).

What this does not tell you

The county's layer names no contractor, so we have no firm lists for Adams County; use the e-Permit Center's licence search for that. It has no issue date, job value, final inspection date or ZIP code, so permits are dated by the day the case was opened and we show no costs or time to final.

How we know this

The search fields are from the Adams County e-Permit Center's building search page, the contact number from its home page, and the records route from the county's CORA page, all read 24 October 2026. Our counts are the county's Building Permits Eye On Adams layer, read 23 October 2026: permits whose case was opened October 2024 to September 2026.

Numbers come from public permit records in 57 cities, data through October 23, 2026. Nobody paid to be on this page and nobody can.
