Tigard building permit search: how to look up permits on an address

To look up a permit in Tigard, Oregon, search the address in the City's Community Development Hub, its EnerGov self-service portal. The City's Building Services page lists "Permit Status Check Status by Address or Permit Number (no login required)" (Common Service Requests, read 24 October 2026). The same permits feed the City's TigardMaps permitting layer, the source of our 5,978 building and trade permits issued inside city limits from October 2024 to September 2026.

How to look up the permits on a Tigard address

  1. Open the Community Development Hub and choose Search, then Permit.
  2. Type the house number and street name.
  3. Open each permit. Electrical, plumbing and mechanical permits are separate from the building permit for the same job.
  4. Read the status of each. Inspection results need the permit record number from step 3.
  5. For a permit history older than the portal shows, look the address up in Weblink or send a records request (below).

What the statuses mean in Tigard's file

Status in the record What it means Counted as
Permit Closed / Inspections Completed Work inspected and permit closed Finished
Permit Issued Permit issued, not yet closed Still open
Permit Expired Lapsed before it closed Expired
Permit Void / Application Void / Withdrawn / Revoked Cancelled Left out

For permits issued October 2024 to September 2025, 71.2% were closed, 5.1% were still open and 23.8% had expired by September 2026. The layer gives no final inspection date, so we can't say how long Tigard jobs take.

When the permit you want is older

The City's Public Records Request Form page says "Building and Planning records may be accessed electronically, free of charge, any time of day through Weblink", and for everything else "City staff will contact you within five (5) business days of receiving your initial request" (read 24 October 2026). Building Services also lists a "Public Records Request: Permit History" option.

What this does not tell you

The City's permit layer names no contractor, so there are no firm lists for Tigard, and it has no final inspection date, so there are no day counts. Trade permits carry no valuation. Planning, right-of-way and code cases are left out.

How we know this

Portal and records wording is quoted from the City of Tigard's Building Services, Common Service Requests and Public Records Request Form pages, read 24 October 2026, and the search fields were checked against the Community Development Hub the same day. Our counts are the City's TigardMaps All Permits layer, building and trade permits issued October 2024 to September 2026.

Numbers come from public permit records in 57 cities, data through October 20, 2026. Nobody paid to be on this page and nobody can.
