Timnath building permit search: the MyGov Address Lookup and statuses

To look up a permit in the Town of Timnath, Colorado, use the Address Lookup on the Town's MyGov public portal. The portal says: "Use the Address Lookup to find all activity at a location." We opened it without logging in on 24 October 2026. Contractors apply through the Town's CommunityCore system; the Town's Building Department FAQs say homeowners without access can have the permit and inspection card emailed to them. In the Town's file, 1,832 permits were issued from January 2023 to December 2024, about 916 a year.

How to look up the permits on a Timnath address

  1. Open the Address Lookup.
  2. Type the street number and name and pick the match.
  3. Read the activity listed at that address. A basement finish, a solar array and a fence are separate permits.
  4. Check each permit's status. COMPLETED means it was signed off.
  5. For the inspection card, ask the Building Department to email it. Town Center is at 4750 Signal Tree Drive, 970-224-3211.

What the statuses mean

The Town's file uses four statuses. This is how our pages count them:

Status in the Town file What it means How we count it
COMPLETED Final passed or the permit completed Finished
IN PROGRESS Issued; work not yet finaled Open
EXPIRED Lapsed without a final Expired
VOIDED Cancelled Left out

Of the permits issued in 2023, 89.2% had finished, 10.0% had expired and 0.9% were still open. Statuses are as of the Town's January 2025 export; a permit that was in progress then and appears on the Town's 2025 list of certificates of completion and occupancy counts as finished on its certificate date.

What our Timnath pages add

The lookup answers "what was permitted at this address". Our Timnath page adds how fast the Town signed work off, from permits issued January 2023 to December 2024:

Kind of work Permits (Jan 2023–Dec 2024) Usual days to final
New homes 614 196
Solar 332 75
Remodels & repairs 173 98
Fences & walls 113 not timed
HVAC 109 not timed

The usual permit took 144 days from issue to final. How long a permit takes has the middle-half ranges, permits by ZIP code splits the town (80547 had 982 permits, 80524 had 846), the permit statistics page has the months, and browse permits lists the rows without owner names or street addresses. Colorado has no statewide general contractor licence; see How to check a contractor's license in Colorado.

What this does not tell you

The Town's permit layer is a one-time export covering 2020 through 2024, and the Town publishes no permit list for 2025 or later, so our window ends in December 2024. Job values are the valuation on the permit, not the sale price. Timnath is small and a few builders pull many of the new-home permits, so we count permits per firm but do not rate firms.

How we know this

The Address Lookup was read on the Town of Timnath's MyGov public portal, and the application and inspection-card details on the Town's Building Department FAQs, on 24 October 2026. Our counts, statuses and days to final are the Town's Building Permits 2020 through 2024 layer with its 2025 certificates list, read 21 October 2026: permits issued January 2023 to December 2024, Town of Timnath only.

Numbers come from public permit records in 57 cities, data through October 21, 2026. Nobody paid to be on this page and nobody can.

Questions

  • How do I find out if a permit was pulled on my house in Timnath?

Open the Town's MyGov public portal and use Address Lookup, which the portal says will find all activity at a location. We opened it without logging in on 24 October 2026. Homeowners can also ask the Building Department to email the permit and inspection card.

  • How long does a Timnath building permit take to final?

For permits issued January 2023 to December 2024 that reached a final, the usual permit took 144 days from issue. A new home usually took 196 days, solar 75 and a remodel 98.

  • Does Timnath handle permits for Fort Collins or Windsor addresses?

No. Fort Collins, Windsor and unincorporated Larimer County run their own permit offices. Some Timnath addresses carry a Fort Collins ZIP code, 80524, so check the town limits rather than the ZIP.

  • What does EXPIRED mean on a Timnath permit?

The permit lapsed without a final inspection. Of the permits issued in 2023, 10.0% had expired, 89.2% had finished and 0.9% were still open in the Town's file.

  • Can I search Timnath permits by contractor?

The Address Lookup works by location. The Town's permit file names the primary contractor on most permits, and our pages count permits per firm, but the Town is small and most firms have only a few permits, so we do not rank them.
