How Corona compares with other cities

From our cross-city data studies: the same measure, read the same way, for every city we cover.

How these numbers are made

Source: CorStat (City of Corona open data), Building Permits dataset 2agx-camz, read 23 Oct 2026. We count permits issued October 2024 through September 2026; denied and withdrawn permits are left out.

Building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, solar, re-roof, fence, pool and fire-sprinkler permits the City of Corona Building Division issues inside city limits. Unincorporated neighbors such as Temescal Valley, El Cerrito, Home Gardens and Coronita get their permits from Riverside County and are not in this file (they are on the Riverside County pages). Public-works encroachment and utility permits and planning or fire-prevention reviews are not counted.

  • The city's permit file names no contractor, so there are no contractor lists, rankings or firm pages for Corona.
  • The job value is filled on about half of permits: almost always on re-roofs, fences, home additions, ADUs, new homes and commercial work, but most electrical, solar, HVAC and plumbing permits carry $0, which we treat as no value.
  • Solar counts both the city's standard solar permits and those issued through its automated online solar review (listed in the file as Symbium Solar); many include battery storage.
  • A final date is the city's finaled date. A permit marked with a certificate of occupancy counts as finished. Water-heater replacements count as plumbing; fire sprinklers, alarms and signs count as other.

Counts are permits, not jobs: one job can need several permits. Nobody paid to be on this page and nobody can. Sources and definitions →
